“I want to fulfil my destiny, but I am not in a hurry. I want to see the lands and peoples and places along the way. I will be kind and bring them water, but if they abuse my gifts, I will rise up against them and show them my power.”
Hafren: The Wisdom of the River Severn by Sarah Siân Chave
In the birthplace of Darwin, life that cannot live out of the water, is struggling to live in the water.

Raw sewage is regularly discharged into the River Severn in Shrewsbury and this, together with run off from agricultural pesticides, poultry farming waste, illegal dumping of chemicals and rubbish and a lack of proper Government regulation, is killing our beautiful river. Human health and wildlife are all being adversely affected.
Up Sewage Creek is a group set up by concerned locals to resist the devastation of our precious waterways and we campaign with our slogan
.
“OUR WATER, OUR FUTURE”.
